Women and Girls’ Empowerment and Social Inclusion
For countries to become more democratic and resilient, they must give women and girls, those who identify as LGBTQ+, people who are differently-abled and those who come from historically marginalized ethnic groups equal access to resources and decision-making opportunities. Social inclusion is a core pillar of sustainable development. It encompasses ensuring equitable access to healthcare, elimination of gender-based violence, participation in political processes, equal rights and equal opportunities to education among many other things.
GreenHealth Africa's expertise is built on decades of working directly with women and girls in the most vulnerable communities to educate and empower them, provide equitable access to healthcare and encourage them to demand their rights to equality in all aspects of their lives.
Our services include:
Research on social and behavioral barriers to equitable access to healthcare
Participatory interventions and use of human-centered design for developing programming that will reduce inequalities, encourage social inclusion in healthcare and advance girls’ empowerment, particularly in sexual and reproductive health
Strengthening programming for reduction of gender-based violence and discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community
